GTV First Loop: Teton to Wind River Range

Aaaaaand cue the snow. We awoke in Teton but the Tetons were hiding behind a snowstorm. So, we took the opportunity to eat bacon at the Signal Mountain Lodge. Breakfast rules, by the way—especially when someone else cooks it.

After breakfast, we attempted to flee the snow to Jackson…but we were far from the only ones with this idea; the town was cute but mobbed. With no real plan, we pushed onward, through the Hoback Canyon and down the Wyoming Centennial Scenic Byway to Pinedale.




We had originally planned to use Pinedale as a jumping-off point for backpacking in the Wind River Range, but  with temperatures in the 30s and the snow hot on our trail, we instead grabbed a hotel and—yes—found a local brewery (Wind River).

Gosh, this road trip thing sure does suck. And if you believe that...
