Le Trois Tetons |
By some magic, the trees seem always to mirror the peaks |
Mel here. Having learned our “get a campsite early” lesson, we nabbed
a nice one first thing at Signal Mountain in the Tetons. With only a few hours
of blue/semi-blue skies before the rain—or possibly snow—was forecast to hit,
we opted for the get-it-in-fast plan. Jeff headed out on a road ride south
along the range and up towards Teton Pass.
I was feeling bad for Mr. Flynnipants, who had missed out on
all the Yellowstone hiking fun (dogs on roads and in campgrounds only in
national parks…and always on leash). So, rather than trail run I settled on a lovely road run on the scenic loop near Jenny Lake.
We met up at the top of Signal Mountain and took in the
views before the weather hit. And hit it did, so we hightailed it for the
Signal Lodge bar.
