GTV First Loop: Taos

We entered the same area up above the ski resort, but in different modes. Jeff rode the Northside Trail on his mountain bike, while I (and Flynn) hiked to Williams Lake and then up toward Wheeler Peak—to the top of which we almost made it, but had to turn around because we were running late to meet Jeff. Next time…

Then down down down back through Taos (with a quick stop at Michael’s for some sopapillas, on the genius recommendation of Shauna Ballo), across the Rio Grande…

…past some weird-ass off-the-grid “houses”…

…back into Colorado and past some pretty Colorado stuff…

…and to a campground on dirt road up the Blanco River valley—which, just like most campgrounds we had passed on the main road, was locked up tight.

Fortunately, that’s not much of a problem in the GTV.
